Thymol, carone and pecimen are known substances in mint, they have antimicrobial, antifungal activity and also antibacterial effect against Staphylococcus, Escherichia coli and Streptococcus.

Therapeutic properties of mint for poultry:

One of the most characteristic medicinal plants in poultry farming is mint, which has strong antimicrobial activity. Addition of 150 grams of peppermint in one kilogram of diet produces 15% more weight gain in broiler chickens. It should be noted that the presence of thymol, caron and psimene in mint causes its antimicrobial properties.

According to researches, up to 1% of mint powder can be used without any problem in feeding broiler chickens.
